of colours that occur in wildflowers. During a recent trip to the Grampians I came across a patch of Blue Tinsel lilies on the side of a road and stopped to capture some photographs of the beautiful mauve and yellow coloured flowers. My photographs of these and many other wildflowers are reminders of the importance of our natural environment and it's beauty even though I am far away from these places.

What reminders do you have of natures beauty in your home?

Silverband Falls

Silverband Falls is a beautiful place in the heart of the Grampians mountain range in located Victoria, Australia. Sometimes our lives can appear to be on hold just like the leaf suspended just above the ground. Given time, the cycle will be completed and the leaf will fall to earth where it will return nutrients to the soil for the cycle to come to completion. So if your plans appear to be on hold it is only a matter of time before things will start to take their natural course again like the cycles in the natural world.

Water Dance

Cooperation of natures elements such as light, water and wind helped to create this abstract image. One place where it is easy to find these shapes and patterns are the rugged cliffs along the coast where weather and waves have combined to expose the patterns that would normally be hidden deep within the core of the rocks.

Next time you are at the seaside try looking for patterns, texture and contrasting colours in the rocks, sand and surroundings. Look for formations that you find appealing they do not need to represent anything in particular and may be quite abstract. This visual exercise helps to heighten your perception of the surroundings and also develops and stimulates your creativity. It could be a made into a fun game where the family joins in and everyone reaps the benefits.

Rainbows

Most of us have been touched by the beauty of a rainbow at sometime in our lives. It is not always easy or convenient to stop and enjoy the visual feast that a rainbow provides which lasts only a few minutes, usually at the beginning or end of a storm. On the day that I took this photo I was heading toward the Brisbane Ranges national park about an hours drive from my home, the weather report stated that it was going to be showers and I hoped to take some photo's of wildflowers with rain drops on their petals.

While driving to the national park the sun broke free of the clouds creating the rainbow in the distance. I pulled the car over to the side of the road to photograph one of natures most beautiful displays. This particular rainbow lasted several minutes which gave me the time to photograph it and enjoy the intense colours against the blue sky until it finally faded away.

Nature sometimes provides opportunities to view it's beauty, we should grab hold of these opportunities and enjoy the moment whenever it occurs as they can sometimes disappear as quickly and unexpectedly as they appeared. By taking the time to enjoy the experience we are left with fond memories and a feeling of connection to nature and environment.

Reaching for the Light

Recently I was hiking through a forest near Anglesea in Victoria about two hours drive from my home. The soft light penetrating the forest canopy created beautiful illumination of a grass trees foliage by the side of the track. I noticed how the quality of the light enhanced the colours of the foliage. Quickly my mind began to visualise the image you see here, a group of individual leaves striving upward toward the light. In my imagination it appeared like a group of individuals striving for the same goal to reach the light, each individual arriving at the same destination by taking a different path.

I showed the photo to Michael and he replied "for me the image felt like there was newness of something happening energetically...." and Michael also added "....the other stems surrounding the centre group were helping and applauding what was happening for the group in the centre. It was like the centre group had attained another level somehow."

When presented with the same image we each see it differently, and that is ok, the photo is merely a catalyst that allows our mind to creatively use our imagination to perceive things from a new or different perspective.

Please leave a comment and let us know what it represents for you.

Poem titled: Simplicity

<img style="margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px; I have had lots of experiences in tipi's, and the feeling of home resonates strongly with me, as being in a tipi with the fire burning low at night, while resting in my bed looking up at the poles disappearing into the dark of the eternal night.

Home
I sought a time and place of which I knew not where
where was it, where is it, I cried out in despair.
A space, a place, to open wide and fly unfettered free.
A sacred place, that special place, its time has come to be.
A connection, a link, in a timeless place for souls to join as one,
and feel that place, that endless space of my home that's finally come.
